First they came for the…, then they came for heretics, then coloreds, then working women, then Hollywood, then homosexuals, then academic elites, then liberal media, then Obamaism, then anchor babies, then mosque builders,.. then recipients of unemployment insurance benefits?
I don’t get the GOP strategy of insulting our “new poor” who receive unemployment insurance benefits.
- The program has gone from being a “safety net to a hammock” (Steve King, R-IA)
- for Americans who have become a ”spoiled.” (Sharron Angle, R-NV)
- We’re creating a nation of “hobos.” (Dean Heller, R-NV)
- Folks just “blow the money on drugs.” (Orrin Hatch, R-UT)
- and “breed like stray animals as long as you keep feeding them.” (Andre Bauer R-SC)
- UIB is “money for doing nothing. You are not getting money to go deer hunting and fishing.” (Newt Gingrich, R-presidential candidate, 2012?)
Yikes, aren’t they worried about running out of scapegoats to alienate? Have Republicans changed their minds about ”sweeping” elections in November? I’m not an expert or anything, but using “welfare king and queen” slurs to shame your so-called core constituency (aka “regular Americans”) doesn’t seem very wise.
.

They want to fight the whole rest of the world, so maybe this is just the logical extension?
Their core constituency, even the ones on unemployment, aren’t like “those” people.
So it’s OK if you’re white? Got it.
(Sam made me think of it this morning.) Far Right folks have zero percent unemployment — the market is so far rigged in their favor six ways from Sunday and there’s always Murdoch and his corporate co-conspirators to make them all rich as political operatives if need be. So they wonder why everyone doesn’t just TAKE THE MONEY!
Oh, please, oh please let Newt run for election in 2012. That little weasel is vulnerable on every single front.
It’s like he’d be committing suicide.
Oh, please, oh please …..
But, Brian, God has “raised up” Newt to show us how to “begin [cough] to live lives of wisdom and virtue.” :)
Come to think of it, Newt has probably had “every form of witchcraft” prayed out of him, too.
Frankly, I’m not interested in seeing either one of them bucked up.
What amuses me is that the political careers of people like Sharron Angle would have never seen the light of day had it not been for these people.
