This week, at a Bachmann/Palin rally in Minneapolis, Michele Bachmann was asked about a possible Palin presidential run in 2012. She responded, “I want to thank Governor Palin for breaking the barrier by being a woman as the vice president on the ticket.”
Good grief. Michele must get her reading material from Sarah, because, obviously, we’ve seen a woman on a presidential ticket before.

Michele Bachmann: “I want to thank Governor Palin for breaking the barrier by being a woman…”
And, I’d like to thank George Clooney for being a man [grrrowl] ~ Okay, I’m far from qualified to police other people’s grammar, but,… LOL.
She broke the intelligence barrier. Never before has someone with a double-digit IQ come so close to the presidency. She makes Dan Quayle look brilliant.
I wonder if even he thinks she’s stupid. :)
Well, Ferraro doesn’t count ’cause she was a Dem. It’s like the whole Nixon going to China thing. The glass ceiling could only be shattered by the racist, sexist party otherwise known as the GOP.
Ferraro ran in 1984. Bachmann’s long-term memory retention doesn’t go back that far. Cut the fluff bunny some slack already.
Audrey,
Speaking of “Nineteen Eighty-Four,” maybe Bachmann was too busy back then memorizing Christian Patriot newspeak.
“I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out if they are pro-America or anti-America.” ~Michelle Bachmann
Oh. My. Gosh….I can’t wait to catch what Jon Stewart says about this one, but even at that ~ that won’t be enough exposure for the ignorance that comes out of those 2 women. Geesh ~~
Clearly Bachman was referring to the misogynist, Ruthuglican party’s barrier. It took them 25 years after the dems…now in another 25 years they might let a black man run for pres. But I doubt it.
Not only that, but back in 1872, we had a woman run for president as a third-party candidate. (Victoria Woodhull.)
Unfortunately, since women couldn’t vote at the time, she lost.
Oops. I didn’t know that. :) Pleeease tell me that my admission doesn’t make me just like Michele and Sarah. [*hanging head in shame*]
