Do you remember when Sarah Palin asked this question of Joe Biden during the VP debate? In the new book, Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime, we learn that the McCain staffers who prepped Palin for the debate not only feared a “debacle of historic and epic proportions,” they were concerned that
Palin had a reflexive tendency to refer to Biden as “O’Biden,” says Schmidt, something that had to be fixed before the debate. He says others in the campaign came up with a solution. “It was multiple people – and I wasn’t one of them – who all said at the same time, ‘Just say, Can I call you Joe,’ which she did.”
In other words, if you were thinking that using Biden’s first name was a carefully considered tactic employed by Palin to charm folks, you’d be mistaken. She just couldn’t stop saying his last name wrong.
Could that be why she quit her job as governor of Alaska? So she’d have extra time to learn names before the 2012 presidential election?

Your next President of the United States?
Yikes! Say it ain’t so, Joe!
That’s O’Joe, y’mean. ;)
Palin is such an idiot. There’s no way she could have accomplished all of the incredible things Obama has. Oh, that’s right she did. She wrote a best selling book, too.
Who cares about admiration rankings? I do agree with you that Palin is an idiot, however.
Thanks for visiting.
If she is ever elected, the good thing is that she will quit!

I wonder if it shows something about how her brain is wired or her prevailing habits of mind at least, that what she has relied on in her life is reflexive rather than reflective — so that when she gets a certain “cue” or starts a certain word or phrase, a little subroutine is triggered and she runs with it. And doesn’t really WANT to change that.
JJ:
Interesting, authentically-mavericky thinking there, JJ. I think you may be on to something.
And, is “quitting” reflexive with Palin (as Nance says) – or is “let others be damned if they’re in my way” the trigger? I’d rather not wager to find out “if she is ever elected.”
Amen!
Just read a news report that Palin believes it was “God’s plan” that McCain chose her as his running mate.
Good plan.
Guess it was also “God’s plan” for her to lose the election. :D
Maybe there’s something to this god business. If he will do what I want. :)

“Guess it was also “God’s plan” for her to lose the election”
Hehe…nice.
My wife does a hi-lar-i-ous Palin imitation. Complete routine that includes mentions of snow, hot cocoa, and moose chili.
But can she do fancy pageant walking?! :)

Tom:
LOL – Oooh. Pls. convince your wife to do a YouTube sketch! She sounds hilarious. :)
Nance,
Do you remember Sarah’s Miss Alaska bathing suit bit? Part of me laughs thinking about it; the other half cringes in embarrassment for her.
No, Lynn. I was spared the bathing suit footage. :)

Nance:
Well, consider this your lucky day, then. :)
