Sumerians Look On In Confusion As God Creates World
Members of the earth’s earliest known civilization, the Sumerians, looked on in shock and confusion some 6,000 years ago as God, the Lord Almighty, created Heaven and Earth.
According to recently excavated clay tablets inscribed with cuneiform script, thousands of Sumerians—the first humans to establish systems of writing, agriculture, and government—were working on their sophisticated irrigation systems when the Father of All Creation reached down from the ether and blew the divine spirit of life into their thriving civilization.
How annoying [sigh]. Nobody likes a Jehovah-come-lately.

The whole thing’s a hoot.
Except when people actually believe it. And teach it to their children. And then my children have to live in a world built on very odd ideas.
Now, I agree my DS may have been brainwashed a little too much when he corrects the “misinformation” on the Blue’s Clue show that Dearest Nephew is watching but still. . . :)

Hi, Lynn. Thanks for coming to my blog. Happy New Year to you, too. (mrsgrovine from Xanga, which is not user-friendly, at least to me).
Nance,
Oh Em Gee. There’s misinformation in Blues’ Clues?? We used to watch that program all the time when Daughter was widdle. The host (at that time) was hilarious, w/o meaning to be, of course, and I think (teen) Son and I looked forward to the show most of all. :D
Top secret confession: Son and I also enjoyed… [shhh] Teletubbies. (Tinky Winky was our favorite.) :P
