I understand how difficult and rude some kids are and I know that there are teachers like Meg who are doing a great job; I just don’t get why some teachers seem to go out of their way to drive this wedge. My daughter started school this year as a blank slate and ideal student: highly motivated to participate and learn and do her best. So far, she has maintained a positive attitude — in spite of some of her teachers. :/

Enforced naps in high school? I may have actually liked that. :) The only naps I ever took were voluntary, in 4th period Geometry (right after lunch).

Her sub is allowed to turn off all the lights??

There’s only a few strict rules that I have to follow as a sub and one is that I am NEVER allowed to turn off all the lights.

Even if I’m playing a movie, I have to leave at least some on.

It drives the kids nuts and I’ve gone to extremes to toe the line, but cut the glare.
