Yes, God sure is a big fan of cannibalism. Here he is cursing Israelites, “then you shall eat the offspring of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters whom the LORD your God has given you” (Deut 28:53). The next verse further condemns Israelite women to eating their newborns – and afterbirth! Ah, the Bible. Such beautiful literation.

Sooner or later it all comes back around to atheists eating babies, doesn’t it?

I think we have enough knowledge, thought, or reason to declare Mr. Colson “stupid.” ;)

Now, this is a prime example of why I can’t seem to shake my prejudice (that I fully acknowledge) against stupid people.

So, beyond the entire breadth and depth of all the great minds who labored over the very issue of good vs. evil and the concept of morality within the frameworks of classical literature, philosophy, sociology, cultural anthropology (to name but a few) – – and the latest break-throughs regarding neurobiology and our own cultural evolution; we have no reason to take morality seriously unless we believe in some ghost in the machine?

Really. Really? And will Zeus be pulling the sun across the sky today…or do I need to go hold down a virgin for him at lunch time. Cause I’m pretty busy today and I don’t need that pressure.

She was right, of course. Unless you are consoled by rivers of blood, Kings is not much use. God sends bears to slaughter children for taunting Elisha over his hair loss. Women eat each others’ children. Ahab’s seventy children are beheaded. That sort of thing.
